Staff Sgt. (Res.) Naftali Yona Gordon, an armored soldier in the 188th Brigade, who was killed in battle in the Gaza Strip on Thursday, is laid to rest at the Mount Herzl military cemetery in Jerusalem. Naftali, the son of Daniel Yigal and Beatrice Miriam, has worked in recent years as a physiotherapist in an HMO in Jerusalem. He was survived by his wife and two daughters.
His uncle, Natan Ophir, wrote on Facebook: "It is with sorrow and with a very heavy heart, during the first candle of Hanukkah, that we received the news and the bitterest news of all, that my nephew Naftali Yona Gordon fell in the fierce battles."
